Our underlay has been specifically chosen and tested on a number of levels.
Initially it was important to us that we did not compromise on our environmentally friendly credentials so our underlay is 100% environmentally friendly and made out of recycled materials. Secondly, on account of the 'living' nature and composition of our matting, it was important that the underlay was breathable to allow air to reach and circulate around the base of the mat on top of the underlay. Thirdly, due to our recommended care instructions, it was important that, should water reach the underlay, there would be no emission of odour, or evidence of a gradual deterioration or breakdown of the underlay. Upon satisfying these three essential requirements we have an underlay to be proud of and to wholeheartedly trust and endorse. We hope that you agree.
The Underlay is 7mm thick. In the interests again of protecting our environmentally friendly status and safeguarding our mats integrity, we hand sew, as opposed to stick, the underlay to the base of our matting using a Hessian string. The underlay is priced per square meter. A measuring and fitting service is available upon request.
